About Maccsteam
Welcome to the homepage of Maccsteam Ltd. Maccsteam was founded in 2006 by me - Mike Abbott. Over the past 3 years I have made over 300 boilers and 160 gas tanks.To date I have tended to specialise in smaller boiler for model boats and locomotives in 0 gauge, 16mm, G1 and 2 1/2" gauge. I have now extended my operations and am taking orders for larger copper boilers for 3 1/2", 5" and smaller 7 1/4" gauge locomotives, up to 50 bar/litres (PED CAT1).
The site will continue to evolve as new products are added to the range. Most of the items listed are either kept in stock or are available within a few days. Many of the items I sell are "specials" made to customer's specifications. If you need a bespoke boiler for that boat you're making or a gauge 1 boiler for one of the many published designs, or anything at all really then contact me and I'll try and help. A dimensioned sketch would be helpful.
I get a lot of enquiries from people along the line of "I've just aquired this steam engine and I was wondering if you could make a boiler for it ......". The answer is Yes but you are going to have to design it and send me a drawing. If you want me to design it then I will do but it will be expensive.
All Maccsteam boilers and gas tanks conform to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) SI/1999/2002. They are of all copper construction with bronze or gunmetal bushes. They are entirely silver soldered using easyflo No2. As ever, Maccsteam boilers represent the best value for money on the market today.
